Ashley Keeler, 30, of Stamford, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 25, after officers with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit set up surveillance on her Mohegan Avenue home, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
Officers watched as a car pulled up to her home and she entered the vehicle carrying a large bag. When officers moved in, they searched the bag and found a fake Dr. Pepper can that had a screw top, inside they found 65 Xanax bars, Conklin said.
A search of her home turned up additional bars and drug paraphernalia, he added.
Keeler was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was held on a $5,000 bond.
Conklin said the arrest was an important one as the department has seen a rise in the sale of Xanax on the streets.
